This is like a diner-style restaurant straight from the past. Very fun vintage signage and the metallic vinyl upholstered booths give a vibe like I was put into a classic movie diner. The vibe was very cool. 😎

The food was even better. I ordered a chili cheese dog, the classic Italian, and a regular Chicago dog. I was a little bit hungry. My kid got chicken tenders with fries and a drink and my wife got some sort of a side salad and an ice tea. And we all finished it off with a slice of chocolate cake.😋👍

It didn't cost too much for me to splurge on myself and take my whole family out. I don't think restaurant prices are going down anytime soon so $40 to $50 bucks to feed three people is the new norm. A few years ago I could have done the same thing for $30 bucks. But then again, I did get three items this time. 😁🤘

A surprise find in Glendale! Beautiful comfy and fun dining area. I love the guitar on the ceiling. It still has that same vibe that I get when I go to any Portillos anywhere. Really good and consistent Italian beef sandwiches. Good amount of meat and plentiful fries. It sure hit the spot! Overall, a delicious lunch at a reasonable price!

Really nice flavors and food. The burger was cooked well but still juicy. The charred dog was our favorite. Fresh toppings and perfectly charred. The fries were nice and crispy. The lemon cake had great balance too. Staff were professional and the food got out relatively quick. It is a nice family atmosphere. We look forward to trying more of their food.

The Maxwell Street Polish is really good. So is the fries w/ cheese sauce.

Th Big Italian Beef Sandwich w/ both sweet and hot peppers is also really good.

The Chicago Dogs are amazing. The peppers really make a good hotdog great.

The Famous Chocolate Cake is a favorite of everyone who tries it.

Everything about this place is exceptionally good! Big Beef with hot and sweet peppers dipped is the best sandwich I have ever had. Little slice of heaven with a sweet tea or cold beer. Moving back to PHX and this will be minimum weekly visit. Highest recommendation possible.

Been here weekly for the last 6 months, never disappoints.

It’s been a few years since I’ve been to Chicago so when visiting PHX I discovered they have them here I was pumped. Ordered the classic Italian beef (peppers and cheese) and a hot dog. Sure it’s pricey but was excellent. All Portillo basically look the same on the inside. Couldn’t tell I wasn’t in Chicago.

Looking at the outside of this place, you wouldn't know if it's a seated restaurant or not. It's huge but it's a fast food place. You order, find your seat and then pick up your food at the counter when it's ready. I didn't like it very much. It's basic food, and my chicken tenders had a soft gumminess in-between the chicken and breading. Not good. I gave it 3 stars because my kids and man enjoyed it. My man got the chili cheese dog, they are known for their hot dogs. So that was probably the better choice. Fries, onion rings, burgers.. The cheese sauce is good and the onion rings are good. But really, it's all stuff I'd get from Sonic and spend less money and I'd probably be happier with it in the end. Ordering the food was a mess as well, you make your own combos, so paying over 8 dollars for chicken tenders that don't come with fries or a drink is just pricey.
I guess I can recommend this place to someone that likes hot dogs.

Not the quality of pictures I usually post on a review but I was hungry and I only stopped for a minute to take a few pics before finishing off these treats!
Italian beef with spicy peppers was really good!
Polish dog with grilled onions and mustard had a nice char and was fantastic! Fries were cooked well. Will definetly stop by again in the future.
