Sheldon is amazing. My 1974-era Yamaha CR-600 amplifier gave up the ghost so off to Champlifier it went. It took some time to land an appointment but it was worth the three-month wait.

Sheldon takes obvious pride in his work and truly cares about the entire customer experience. He sets clear expectations with regards to cost and duration. When the job is done he is meticulous about following up to ensure satisfaction.

Note that Champlifier's services don't come cheap, but the high-quality of service is worth the premium. I could not be more pleased with Champlifier.

I have a Marantz 2500 receiver I purchased in 1978 brand new that needed service. It sat in my closet for 35 years.I brought it to Sheldon to service it. I waited 13 months for the unit to be repaired but what's 13 months after sitting in the closet for 35 years. He had it sounding brand new and I couldn't be happier. He happened by chance to have 2 of these rare vintage receivers in his shop at the same time so he took a picture of both receivers together and gave each of us a signed and framed picture of the rare occasion.
He even gave me tips on dieting since he lost over 50lbs in a year.
He is a highly skilled electronics technician and I highly recommend him.

Music is important, so being able to play it is a wonderful thing. Being without music is like having a broken limb. So, when the turntable is not working and you can't play your 33's or 45's you have to find a replacement. I shopped around and found Champlifier! I made an appointment and everything evolved from there! It was a beautiful experience. Sheldon is not only good, but a pleasure to speak with. He is knowledgeable and sincere as he assists you to achieve your goal. After discussing the problems and checking out my equipment, it was determine I needed something new. Well, by the time I made my decision, I was able to leave his shop a satisfied individual. He is a gentle king of electronics. Should you need help with your turntable or receiver go see him and you won't be disappointed. Kudos to everyone in the shop!

Time, care, expertise, and patience all describe this business.
I am someone who appreciates craftsmanship and knowledge- Sheldon has both. He took time to explain things to me- not just get me in and out. My turntable is fixed, I can listen to my music, and I can relax knowing a knowledgeable , focused person did not rush the job, but took their time and care to do it right.
I would rather spend money on fixing something than toss it away and quickly buy something new. I also would rather support a local business in a world of big box stores and mega companies.
I read the reviews of people who were upset at putting down a deposit- they seem to have forgotten that a person is taking time to assess their equipment and diagnose the problem, They should not do that for free.
Thank You Sheldon for making the down side of my having to repair something be such a positive experience!
I highly recommend this business to anyone who cares about high quality work.

I was starting to fall out of love with my 1975 Luxman l-100u integrated amplifier. This was the flagship of Luxman in its heyday, and it sounded sweet. But then it started to develop a bit of noise and crackle in the right channel, which gradually got worse. I had another shop take a look at it, they claimed to fix it, but no.

Then I took it to Sheldon. We was extremely patient and thorough as he described his process and what decisions I could make as to resolving the issue. He gave me the confidence that he really cared about his work, and the resulting music.

The problem was super tricky - intermittent, with all of the components testing in spec. To make matters worse, this is a, extremely complicated amp to work on.

After picking it up, I noted that the problem was almost gone, but not quite. The gremlin came back! Sheldon helped me troubleshoot over the phone and asked to take another look at it.

I picked it up today and have been listening to it for hours, and cannot believe how great it sounds. A completely black and transparent background, and sounding better then it ever has before!

Sheldon was fair and transparent with me on the price. In fact, I know for a fact that he put in many more hours of labor than he charged me for, and a full list of the replaced components along with pics of everything along the way.

Seriously, he is the real deal. A "transistor whisperer" and one who takes the utmost pride in his work. If you want your forever stereo to sound as good or better than the day it left the showroom, Champlifier is a worthwhile investment.
