As Volcano is the only cable company serving most parts of Amador county, they have a monopoly in the area, unless you want to go with something like Dish TV, etc. So those of us here don't have much to choose from. Sad to say that the service is so so at best. I have had to have no less than 4 HD boxes replaced in less than 1 year. Whenever there is a power failure, it take another act of God to get the cble up and running correctly. Though the people working for them are polite, I just can't give them more than 2 stars. What we need is good old fashioned competition here, but as I have heard (don't know if it is true or not) is that they made a deal with a major cable company to stay away from here so they can have their monopoly. Sorry Volcano, but your service needs to be greatly better to be what other companies have,

Frustratingly inconsistent service. On Demand programs are frequently unavailable, although it's supposed to be part of our service. In December, most programs skipped three weeks of episodes. Some have still not been updated more than a month later, and others just ignored the skipped episodes and posted anyway. The viewer is left quite confused. For at least two weeks, the Walking Dead has been nothing but stuff from before the actual opening of the current season. If we had other options, we would dump Volcano in a heartbeat.

I've never paid this much money for mediocre internet service my whole life. Sadly, volcano has somehow created a monopoly and is the only internet provider in Amador County so you I have no choice but to go with them. Very disappointed.

I'm decreasing my earlier rating to a single star. All On Demand services have been terminated. The cable service is expensive while the product is absolutely minimal.
