Just renewed my third lease with this company. I’ve rented from a ton of places, but Westwinds has been fair, forthcoming, and got things done when things need to be fixed and replaced. I haven’t had any issues in two consecutive years- the most I’ve ever spent with one rental company! To any college student or family moving into town and looking for a rental, I always recommend Westwinds.

Edit: Want to say got another great experience. The stove in my unit was acting up in a way that made me feel very unsafe, and the awesome maitenence crew with Westwinds took care of that immediately, reaching out just a day later. I’ve always had such good experience de with their maitenence. When my dumb butt lost my garage key right before Christmas, I was called by someone immediately to make sure my car wasn’t locked in the garage before they left for the holiday. Awesome experiences, appreciate them!!

First of all: DO NOT RENT FROM WESTWINDS. 0 Stars if possible!
They plan on taking your security deposit no matter what. I SEE YOU ARE RESPONDING TO THESE WEST WINDS. Why did you send me half the amount of the security deposit refund? Why does it take you like 2+weeks and email spams to send out a check? Just give me the amount you agreed on, and it wouldn’t have taken 6 months to settle this! I keep the receipts of everything, so I will just repost this review if you delete it! Thank you🥰

Westwinds will try to take as much of your money as possible and do as little as possible. I've had many landlords who do honest business and Westwinds is not one of them. If you do business with them, be prepared to get caught on even the slightest technicality. They know in advance that they will take your whole security deposit and pad the bill for cleaning no matter what condition you leave your place in. The other people leaving reviews are not exaggerating, not even a little bit. Believe them. They will probably reply to this with a very weak and pre-planned cookie cutter response. Do not fall for the "We're sorry your experience was....." Responses. They are playing dumb on steroids

Charged us for “re-installing” a closet door after we moved out. The door was on a track that came off frequently from the time we moved in. 50$ plus labor. Charged us to put new lightbulbs in after move out (2) 57$. Charged us to put new blinds in that were perfectly fine after we moved out. 340$ charged us a 750$ cleaning fee after move out, we made sure the place was absolutely spotless. If you decide to go with them don’t expect a refund for deposit no matter what. They will find a way to make sure you don’t get it back. We have pictures of absolutely everything and proof that they were shady at the end. We knew this would happen as they were really weird about maintenance the whole time we lived there(which was needed frequently). Do not rent through them if you do not have to.

Working with anyone from Westwinds is a job by itself. Upon move in our apartment didn't have a functioning AC unit and it took them a month to fix that. We were never given any compensation even after reaching out to them about it and being told we would receive some, an apartment we could not live in because of the heat that summer. It once took them weeks to take off a $300 charge from our rent that no one could give us an answer to what the charge was even for, their best advice was to just pay it so I wouldn't get a late fee on my rent. Their snow removal service in the winter was near non existent as well. On top of this they charged us for damages that they're own employees caused to the apartment. This company wants your money and they want all of it. I would advise anyone looking at their apartments to look elsewhere

I see this company is getting stellar reviews lately, lol. If you know anything about them they as a business and individuals are a joke. Family ran business who don't understand family except for using tenants to pad their bank accounts, among other things. Not respected in the community like they think they are, it's easy to lie to ones face and tell the truth behind their backs. In the end I don't think they care, their reputation is trash, but at least they got a little bit of money and that's what this slumlord family cares about. Hell I'm not even sure the boys care about their own families otherwise why not be loyal.
