I was thinking about visiting this place for months since I moved from Miami for cafe con leche and a nice Cuban sandwich. And tbh, Mammitas' did not disappoint but exceeded my expectations. I will confess that I had a couple bad cafe con leches and average Cuban sandwiches back in Miami. So for mr to say that Mamacita's made it on the best cafe con leche and Cuban Sandwiches you'll ever have is not an understatement. Be sure to get that quesadilla (not the Mexican one, the Salvadorian one) to pair with that cafe con leche. You have earned my respect.Will definitely be back!

Very unique and friendly little coffee pastry and food with Mexican vibe. Very busy when we stopped. Choices for coffee drinks where not typical but was easy to understand. The smells from the kitchen where very good. We ordered Mexican influenced drinks and breakfast burritos. Sitting inside was limited so we chose outside. Several unique areas to sit outside and didn't feel like we where downtown Iowa City. The burritos where filled with fresh flavor rich ingredients. Delicious. The coffee drinks where not at the level of the food. Was alittle disappointed. Maybe an off day for coffee. Definitely worth stopping by and trying the food. Loved the outdoor seating.

Mammitas was so good for breakfast! It was our first time visiting and the food was excellent! The owner was so kind! Had pastries made fresh by her mother that were still hot out of the oven. Highly recommend for breakfast if you’re in Iowa City.

One of the best espresso shots in Iowa City. If you like your espresso rich and balanced with chocolate notes, this is your place. I took a double shot home (March 22, 2025), added it to 2 oz water--nice nice nice. A very, very pleasant experience. Owners super friendly and warm.

First time coming in. Got a Cuban burrito and a horchata latte. Both gross I called saying hi I didn’t like the recommendation I can bring them back I didn’t touch either. And I can’t get a refund cause of some food hinder policy. My food was so gross and I spend $22 on a latte and a burrito that were both nasty. I honesty just wanted a refund and was willing to bring my food back the lady n the phone said no. Will not be back

Came here for a quick breakfast and was pleasantly greeted by who I am assuming is the owner. She recommended the chorizo burrito and a horchata matcha with coconut milk. The burrito was delicious and a huge portion. The horchata matcha with coconut milk was incredibly refreshing and perfectly sweet. The ambiance is very cute and cozy. I will absolutely come back the next time I am in Iowa City!

I came here in between a conference visit in March and the menu looked incredible I wished I could have tried everything! I love the concept of coffee and flowers - they could even blow up balloons and make customizations. Plus, the had conchas 😍 The staff was super friendly and sweet!

incredible little gem in Iowa city! As much of a Latin pastry shop as a coffee shop. Thoroughly enjoyed everything we got. Service took a little longer, but that was only because it was so busy. Can’t wait to go back.
