Go with eyes wide open, and Smith take great care of you. I knew when I wrote my book that marketing is hard, very hard, and book sales are very hard to get. Smith isn't perfect, but they're the best book PR firm I've worked with, and I've written 7 books using 4 different PR firms. The thing many authors don't understand - no one said this was going to be easy -- writing your book was the easy part, trust me. Even when you pay pros like Smith, you are still going to need to work hard - they can't do everything, and there may some things YOU can actually do better than them, like handling your social media and keeping it current. My advice to people thinking about writing a book - think long and hard about it. This s a tough business. Good, solid professionals like Smith Publicity can help quite a bit and they are talented, but they're not perfect and they can't do everything.
