I love this library ❤️❤️💯 Everyone is friendly and welcoming. Outdoor Dropbox. Has elevator. Wheelchair and stroller accesible. 3 floors. My child and I visit a few times a week. Lots of books for children of all ages downstairs. There is a nice sized area for the toddlers to pick out board books and to play with spinning wall toys. Also a train table, beanbag toss and puzzles. There is a short table and chairs with coloring activities. Many chapter and story books. Huge Spanish kids section. I'm bilingual and I'm happy they have an awesome selection. My child loveeeees them. The lower level also has a LGBTQ section 💕💕

The middle level is the lobby and the upper level has the adult and older youth sections. It also has the audio books and DVDs. . .

You can rent as many books and stuff as u want. Most book rentals are 3 weeks unless specified. I get a lot of books for my child. I'm proud to be raising a book worm. And overall this place is clean. They have a website to place holds and renew checkouts with your account. They have computers and can print docs. Please stop by, stay awhile, and see this amazing place. ❤️❤️

Wonderful library and an important piece of the Evansville community. However, I was surprised, and taken aback honestly, at the brusqueness of the librarian in the children's section. All of our questions, including my 7 year old's, were met with short 1 word answers. Maybe it was a bad day, so we'll see at a future visit if this is the norm or not.

I wish there was a night or 2 when they stayed open late (8-9:00) as it's tough to get in some quality time during the week if you're a working family.

Very nice and kid friendly library. My kids love to pick up crafts and do the scavenger hunts. It's our little event every couple weeks. Friendly staff and good hours for busy families.

This library is great for the size of town we have, honestly for any town. I am always finding things for my son to read and learn about. With the recent renovations the whole place feels updated and new. It’s a great space. The downstairs kids area is fantastic; there’s some games and little areas to entertain the kiddos. I have two complaints. They added iPads in the kids area with the renovation and I absolutely hate it. We try to be a low screen time family but when my son sees them that’s all he wants some days. If I wanted my kiddo to play on an iPad I’d sit at home and give him mine, I come to the library for him to read books. Unpopular opinion... My second complaint is some of the librarians have been less than kid friendly. Some are fantastic! But on several occasions the workers have been stern or disapproving toward my kiddo. For example there were toys out for children’s hour and my son went to them before children hour started, the lady yelled at him. They’re toys on the floor, he was 1 how was he supposed to understand not to touch toys on the floor? We didn’t stay. The other time I was having him hand books to the librarian and she thought he was being too forceful. Again, she yelled at him. We have tons of books at home, he’s very good with books. I didn’t see an issue with his “use of force.” Two different ladies. I’d like to think my child’s as well behaved as any other two year old but some have corrected him and when I’m definitely the kid of mom to “make” my child behave, I don’t believe it’s their place to say something to him that’s my place. It’s happened several times to the point we usually come to read and then leave without checking out to avoid further unfriendly interactions... Unless certain some are working who I know are great with him.

Super friendly and they can order anything you might want from the local library system. They have plenty of up to date computers and good wifi.

The hours are not convenient for moms that work outside the home. If they stayed open 1 or 2 nights until 8 that would be nice.
