This is one of the best community libraries I have ever been in. It has wonderfully helpful librarians, spacious and beautiful rooms, and an imaginative director intent on drawing the community into this splendid world of books. It has a delightful children's room with spectacular art on the walls that makes one happy just to enter it. The library has a very decent collection of books, and what you don't find on the shelves, you can order from inter-library loan.

This library has a good selection of books. The staff is nice . But, there aren't enough computers, you are allowed to use a computer for 45 minutes only, sometimes people are loud, and they charge you a lot for not returning the books on time. Not even the LA county library charge you that much money.

Love the fact that they have an outside return specifically for audiovisual materials. I have never been to a Kern County Library that has one until I came here. It makes it super convenient to return movies because then they dont get smashed from books in the book drop and I dont have to return them during library hours. I didnt go inside the library but from the outside it looks like a very, very nice building.

This gem is tucked away, high on a mountainside off one of the first exits heading North past the grapevine. I stopped by for a reason that escapes me on my way home from Bakersfield. It was winter and a light snow dusted the roof and grounds. Inside felt like a mountain cabin. I could have stayed all night, enjoying the view and playing intellectual. I enjoyed it so much I convinced my boss to use the library for depositions for our Bakersfield cases. We went out of business shortly afterwards, but I doubt that had anything to do with the library. Anyway, yes, I have fond memories here. Definitely check it out, especially during winter.

Very nice and helpful staff. Beautiful library. Excellent family place. I love going there. Perfect for kids, in their kid section, and for doing online school.

Great library but they charge way too much for late fees. No chances on credit back. Just a couple kids books 2 days late cost me more than the value of the book.
