Staff are very kind and helpful, I’m in love with the teenage/manga section! This is the place where I get all my books. And it’s convenient cuz it’s nearby. Their water fountains work well, and the bathroom is hygienic. Please stop by if you can! Totally worth going to! ❤️😉

love this library! the librarians are always very kind and helpful. parking in the area is super easy as well, and it's really accessible by bike!

lots of places to sit and read both inside the library and right outside, and they have quite a large selection of manga (more than other alameda libraries i've been to)

I like this library. Very nice and convenient inside and out. But i do agree with one other reviewer, this is the noisiest library i have ever been to. I sat here to study for 5 hours, and the place is like a "day care facility"...kids scream, cry, run around...the staffs are nice and helpful, but at the same time, they do talk to each other non-stop. I am not complaining. Just stating the facts of how it is like here. So if you need a nice and quiet place, then this is not it.

Exceptional library. Great collections, carefully thought out: large print books, decorating books, new books. Good hold system, a pretty space with artwork and dedicated sections for teens and kids, and adjacent event and meeting rooms, all make it a lively community hub.

Yeah it's a bit noisy at times because it truly serves the entire community from young to old, rich to poor. However, the extent of services are unmatched in most ways and this library is a very welcome place for a wide range of people, including those less inclined to use typical "library" services. I have to commend Albany for creating a library that offers so much for almost anyone willing to step inside. While not the most extensive library in The Bay Area, it is hands down my favorite and certainly the most comfortable.

I don’t really like this library, especially for kids. They have movies, plus two computers at kid-level, before the kids even reach the books. You need to put in your library card number to access the catalog and find book titles, which is not just a pain but feels exclusionary. Lastly, the books are organized in an unintuitive way (at least for me) and a lot the book options feel like they are marketing toys and movies to kids - e.g. LEGOS, DC comics, Nickelodeon, Barbie, etc. It’s better than nothing but near the bottom of the Children’s libraries we have visited.
