So my truck is broke down n my son got stranded in salinas and I live in Watsonville and it’s dark so yes I walked Highway 1 but over as far as I could and I also ask them do they do courtesy rides like other states do just to get you off the highway or interstate. So they block traffic lol like I’ve walked many states n this is the weirdest one lol but anyways I got lectured by all 3 cops searched (can a male cop search a female?) cuffed n dropped off n told I couldn’t walk threw Miss Landing which nope I can cuz the speed limit is 55mph n I work in that road n there is people all day on bikes and walking. But the 1 tall blonde cop was cool af. I understand it’s dangerous to walk on the highway but sometimes you do what you got to do for your kids. Also that’s why I let them know I was there n every other state I’ve been in they’d give you a courtesy ride. Anyways I got cuffed behind my back after being searched n one of the cuffs bruised me I don’t know why I was cuffed behind my back they have a cage like tf? Y’all need to do better. Seriously you’ve taken that badge n authority a little too far. I back the blue but damn. I was treated like a criminal.

I was asked to meet friends at church in Capitola last Monday (the 6th). My GPS took me off highway 17 down a side road at the Summit and both lost me and lost the signal somewhere on the way down into Capitola. I floundered around and picked up a cell signal when my phone was dying… At 6:00pm almost late for my appointment, I found a Highway Patrol station and Officer K. Hoffman (#20293) was pulling into the drive.

I could tell he was busy with something, but I was too desperate to wait. He saw the frustration and panic in my face and took time to listen. He knew where I was going and put what he was doing on hold. He didn’t try to confuse me with more directions and said it would take less time for him to show me. So, he said to follow him and in 5 minutes I was in the church parking lot although I still could not tell you how.

I really appreciated this officer making my concerns a priority. We often complain about Police Officers because of how we perceive them or their actions, judgement calls or responses to our important issues. Unlike his family, I have never once worried about if I would be coming home, when I leave for work in the morning… I think if we (the public) could speak up about good service/experiences like I had, we could all balance our perceptions and know how many good officers are out there helping. Thanks, Officer Hoffman!

I had a really positive experience with the CHP after I was unfortunately involved in a hit and run. The officer really did his due diligence and tried to find the car that sped away. The officers seem to genuinely care.

My experience with Santa Cruz CHP left me doubting their practices, honesty and experience. I usually have a decent experience with officers but have to down vote 1, maybe 2 of them...

California Highway Patrol office has friendly courteous staff who can help you with 'fix it tickets' and offer friendly advice as to where you can get issues with your vehicle repaired.

The CHP are the best. Today, 9/1/2018 I saw a shinny black and white CHP crown victoria in Soquel. Probably the last one left in Santa Cruz. What a great looking police vehicle. So much more official looking than the soccer mom explorers.

Not professional at all..tried talking with a sergeant and because of traiff and other noises I couldnt hear him and because I was talking loudly.. He says im yelling like a crazy person.. I tell him im not yelling sorry it loud here..but not listening he just hangs up....some people should not be in law enforcement like this idiot
