I was very happy with Coder Accounting last year so I thought it would be best to use them again. As life has changed, I have been reaching out since September 24th asking for a meeting to discuss 2025.

Finally November 18th I got an email about tax preparation for 2024. I was caught off guard and said I was disappointed and frustrated with the lack of follow through as I kept having to follow up with them.

After adding Jackie to the email chain, I got a short and sweet it's no longer a good fit.

While I was starting to feel the same, I am very disappointed that they decided to not listen to anything I asked for and went a completely different direction.

I became a first time client of this entity this year for the 2023 tax season with hopes of a longer term CPA relationship for my small business. The tax advisor I had been working with was great, I just wanted to work with a firm that could provide CPA services and specialized in my industry. Biggest mistake I ever made. The customer service was horrible and here I am, in the holiday season of 2024, I have still have not received my refund. The return has been “processing” since May/June. At first, I got a letter from the IRS saying my return was missing information. I reached out to Coder Accounting for assistance and they immediately said “there is nothing we can do, check the site”. After I sent them a copy of the letter I received from IRS, they eventually connected with the IRS and submitted whatever was missing. I didn’t have to supply additional information for them to give to the IRS, so I’m still not clear on what was “missing”, but Coder claimed to fix the issue. I have reached out to them so, so, many times since then because I still don’t have a refund and the IRS website said it’s processing. There is no number that will lead me to a person for assistance on the IRS side and Coder is useless. They took their fee to do the return and tossed me aside as a new client. I went back to my previous tax advisor, and she immediately got me to sign a POA and contacted the IRS on my behalf. They are still working to resolve the issue. Something Coder should be doing since I paid them $750 for the service. No way it’s November and I still haven’t received a refund. Even worse, no way I go to Coder for assistance and they dismiss my request for help after paying them for services. I do not recommend this tax firm at all. They don’t care about providing quality client services and seem unprofessional. They have expertise I don’t, supposedly. I should be able to lean on them for help as a client. They have to know they can get a POA from me to clarify issues related to returns they submit. I deserve an explanation. Sending me to a website with no chance of human intervention with something as important as this is negligent. Thankful for the tax advisor I had before and am never switching again. This has been the worst experience and I have never felt so dismissed. I hope that $750 served you well, Coder Accounting.
