I feel like they don't put the same level of care into scanning photos like other labs in LA do. Usually all my photos are scanned some what crooked and uncropped, so I have to go and crop it myself, which is a pain. I was willing to ignore this until recently they ruined a roll of film I had. They gave me a refund, but still I can't help but think it was just carelessness due to my previously poor experiences with them.

Rarely same day turn around unfortunately. I was told I’d get my film next day and it’s now been 4 days, still not ready. And it’s not the first time.

I usually don’t leave negative reviews, but was simply disappointed. I was looking for a fast, hustle free experience but developing one roll of film took me 2 months and a crazy amount of phone calls, follow ups. Unfortunately this business is too busy and they are not able to handle the volume of work they accept. Therefore, the quality of service suffers. I work in sales, so I understand how the process works. Unfortunately I won’t be using their services again.

Favorite spot in LA to get my 35mm color film developed. Incredibly fast turn around and very good price for high quality scans. I brought my dad once who’s a film hobbyist and he and the owner had a really nice conversation in mandarin. I love D&J’s

Used to love coming here, been a loyal customer for 7 years and have to unfortunately end my business here. The owners new policy to throw away negatives after a month is understandable, but zero notification and/or notice to current or existing customers is unacceptable. The strict policy was put in place after I dropped off film- and when I called to ask for leeway as I adjust my schedule I was told the negatives were already gone. I was a week late. Rules are rules, I get it. But I won’t be coming back.

This used to be my go-to spot for getting film developed. However, I recently went in to pick up some negatives and was informed that they had been discarded due to a change in their policy on how long they hold onto negatives. This change was implemented without informing their customers, despite having my email and phone number on file.

While I understand that space is limited, it is unacceptable to throw away someone’s memories / art without attempting to contact them first. Due to this inconsiderate action, I will not be returning.
