I tried to purchase a purse at this Goodwill and was told that I couldn't buy it due to the employee stating that "I priced this myself and the price is wrong" when there were 2 NEW perfectly placed stickers on it. The purse was priced at $4.79 and she said it was supposed to be $14 and when I offered to pay the difference she said "I cannot sell this anymore because it's been tampered with" when it clearly wasn't. If you want to keep things for yourself, keep them in the back room next time instead of refusing to sell items to paying customers who shop at your store on a daily basis. No longer returning to this store.

I just tried to donate a bag of clothes and a few bags/purses and walked into the front to see where or how to donate my stuff and the lady at the front said I had to drive through the back to which I told her I don’t have a car and then they said I couldn’t donate unless I drive through the back. Like I’m not an employee so I don’t know the store’s inner workings or whatever, but could the employee not just take my stuff to the back where it would’ve been donated by drive through anyway? Kind of a dumb policy imo. Not to mention they didn’t answer the phone when I tried to call ahead of time to ask it went to straight to voicemail twice so I had to carry my stuff there and back because they wouldn’t let me donate it.

This is one of the worst Goodwills I’ve been to in terms of organization. In Washington state, all clothing is organized by size so you can go right to your section. Then housewares are organized by category, such as sewing, crafts, mugs, plates, etc.
At the Merced location, clothing is sorted by gender and the size isn’t even written on the price tag. And housewares are just lumped together in chaos, no rhyme or reason.
If things were organized by size and category, you could find things and therefore they’d sell so much more. Otherwise it feels like a waste of time.

Employees are rude and aren't up to date on corporate policies when asked. Also, most clothing items don't have price tags and I was told by employees that in order to know the price, you'd have to go to checkout. Basically, they can charge you a whatever they want since there are no price tags on certain items. They also don't allow refunds, which makes zero sense as we aren't even allowed to try on clothing. The fitting rooms are also closed so you're not allowed to try anything on. Prices are ridiculous too. There is definitely some price gouging here. Terrible store. Would not recommend.

I remember why I stopped shopping at most Goodwill locations. During the Covid nonsense Goodwill moved fast to stop all specials and sales but now that no one’s talking about Covid anymore, they fail to re-implement any sort of sales or discounts. Prices are very high on any given day and now they don’t even want to give you your change back if you pay cash!!! Unbelievably greedy. If anyone still believes Goodwill gives back to its community it’s time to wake up. Instead consider donating to local shelters and churches. At least then I know someone in my community will receive the help and not feed Goodwills corporate greed.

Prices are either $5 or $10 sometimes it’s cheaper to purchase new items. I have found some great pieces here too. I stop by here and there.

We cleaned out our relatives estate. Crystal, full sets of dishes, leather jackets, new shoes, lamps, linen plus brand new kitchen items. Goodwill Merced wanted us to unbox a trailer full of boxes to put in the bins, trailer of great stuff ended up in the dump. Shame on you Goodwill Merced. I will never donate to your organization again.

Product had a price tag on it but the very rude clerk said "that's not ours" and refused to sell it. Not a good place.
