They have lost so many of my documents. They're very inefficient. The judges are pretty difficult too in terms of getting a restraining order approved and also requesting remote appearances due to transportation or childcare issues. Self-help doesn't seem to be on the same page with the clerk's office. Many suggestions or protocol contradict between the two. They also told me I would need to come in to pick up a restraining order paper that I received in the mail the next day. They waste so much time and money.

Went there today to pick up certified Name change Decree for my wife, and it was a breeze. Made an appointment a day before for 12pm, got there and went through the security check, got the ticket and then was served. I was out in about 15 minutes. Only thing I didn’t like was that they don’t have any free public parking whatsoever. But you can park your park your Car on the side of the street and walk 2-3 minutes.

Overall pretty Good experience.

I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE REPLACES ALL THESE LAZY, UNHELPFUL CLERKS. They make the justice system so disorganized. AI would make everything efficient.

The worse type of employees. These folks truly aren’t professionals. Many of the clerks are lazy, rude, and unprofessional. It’s like they forget who plays their salary. Went to drop off some paperwork for an eviction of a trespasser of my late fathers home who is someone we don’t know but decided to squat and had been there for 30 or more days and now we have go through the eviction process. And when I brought the paperwork the clerk told me “we don’t support or help landlords”. I’m not a landlord, this is my family home and was vacant for a long time and some person just decided to break in and stay on the property to squat. It was empty cuz my dad was sick for a long time and then passed away. The clerks that work here are close to catching a lawsuit themselves if they don’t start being more professional.

Amazing services. Judge Pastran is a wonder and probably overworked and maybe underpaid.

Take a ticket and I wait till called.
Confusing instructions on filling out forms which differ between self-help support team and window clerks. Window clerks will also not inform you if your form is correctly filled out.
Bureaucracy at its finest when it comes to forcing rework!
Not the worst I have experienced, admittedly, but enough to cause multiple trips and much frustration

Totally inept. Dangerous to society - the main reason why you shouldn't live in Alameda county.

Dept 508 Commissioner Boydine Hall: If you are a person of color and your spouse is also, she will be fair and handle your matter swiftly. The same cannot be said for white people. Tread lightly - especially if you are a white female. Highly recommend you request she recuse herself before she hears your matter so you don't get stuck with her and waste years of your life like I've had to.

After having been in court for over three years, with Dept 508 Judge Boydine Hall who handles child support and other family law matters I can say without a doubt that she perpetuates domestic violence and is a reverse racist.

If you happen to be a white person, especially a white woman who doesn't work, DO NOT allow her to be your judge. She will have you thinking she plays fair, but she doesn't. She will string you along for years and then bend over backwards to ensure her personal biases are upheld and state that you're not credible. She doesn't give both parties equal time to plead their case. She will ignore you at hearings if she doesn't like you and she coddles people of color. I haven't had the money to appeal any of her decisions thus far but am looking forward to that day very soon.

Dept 515 - Judge Nikki Clark is petty and makes decisions not based on reality or facts. She laughs at women who represent themselves and makes thoughtless determinations that also perpetuate domestic violence.

It has been a horrible experience being in both of these courtrooms. If you are a man or a person of color, you will likely have a different experience.

If you are a woman, especially a white woman, both of the above judges, highly recommended you request a different judge before any proceedings begin.

Self help also is no help here. Do not file anything using self help because their bad advice makes you look bad to the court. Get yourself a good attorney and if you can't afford one, stay as far away from this court as possible.

If you also have had a bad experience you can complain to the Presiding Judge - currently Judge Smiley out of Rene Davidson courthouse executive offices. He is not much help but if he doesn't help, you can then complain to the Commission on Judicial Performance. If they receive enough complaints about these 2 judges, perhaps these judges will receive better training on being impartial and how to stop domestic violence rather than perpetrating it.

Hope this helps you in your matters!

Some good, some bad. But the Bad should be taken over by state oversight. Alameda County is corrupt

This place is creepy. I've been in the jail part it's underground and looks like a dungeon. It's not lit well and everything is painted in a flat mustard color.
It's like a maze so you get disoriented and difficult to escape.
