2023, 5 stars: So far the service has been decent. This should be an ongoing relationship, so I'll eventually update the rating and this review depending on my experience.

2024 update: Still good. They were great on the phone when I was setting everything up. Generally friendly, helpful, available. After getting everything set up, I don't interact with them much. Which is a good thing, since the main purpose of reaching out at this point would be if something wasn't right. I appreciate IRAR and I'm glad I chose them.

Being a novice in self directed IRA accounts , I was forced out of my comfort zone due to an investment opportunity. I was able to transfer funds out of my traditional IRA to IRAR trust.
The folks at IRAR trust are very helpful, and render excellent advice over the phone (picking up at 1st or 2nd ring), the fees for a smaller investor like myself are very reasonable. The account specialists are knowledgable and kind. Not one of them has gotten frustrated due to my incessant novice questions.
If anyone needs a side investment self directed IRA, I highly recommend IRAR trust.
I used their lower tier investment option, but a pricier self directed solo IRA for property investments also exists which also seem very reasonably priced compared to the marketplace.

I've used IRA Resources for about 10 years and my experience has been great. The fees are low, the response time is always very quick, no debits or credits have ever been incorrect. My experience is 100% thumbs up.

I just completed my first investment with IRA Resources and can highly recommend them. I have used IRA Services in San Carlos, CA, Equity Trust out of Ohio and PENSCO in the past. After all of my experience, IRAR staff pick up the phone, provide you with the answers and help you need, and certainly cost much less than Equity Trust and PENSCO, about the same as IRA Services. I am switching because the other custodians' fees were rising quickly with service levels declining. I need my questions answered in a day or two, not 7 days later, without being told to "ask my IRA attorney" regarding very simple issues.

Cecilia was especially helpful today, as all of the staff have been who I spoke with at IRAR to get the account open, funded and make the first investment. Many thanks!

Ugh. Hold your nose to save money.

Pros: IRAR is inexpensive and their systems are adequate
Cons: At some point you might have to speak with the owner (Liane).

If you can find a less expensive option with better service - go for it. If you decide to move forward with IRAR and Liane answers the phone, politely ask for someone else.
