Metalcraft produces good products. We have used them twice. Unfortunately we had a lot of trouble with them when it came to paying with our debit card the second time around. When we placed our order online, we were told our order would be about $372. However Metalcraft immediately charged our debit card $400! We complained! Their email explanation was (exact wording), "PLEASE note that this is a pre-authorization. We always pre auth for more in case of any incidentals. When we settle the invoice you will see the actual amount due if there are no authorized changes or revisions." AH DO WHAT? We don't mind pre-paying for an order, especially for a custom made product, but a company should not charge more than the agreed upon amount! After a number of emails back and forth, finally Metalcraft agreed to refund the $400. However we were blown away when they charged our debit card for ANOTHER $360! That means we were out $760 on our debit card! Then the emails became angry! After another barrage of email correspondence, it took Metalcraft over a week to "correct" the situation. When they did make the correction, they refunded both charges back to our bank! AH DO WHAT AGAIN? At this point we didn't know if our order was placed and in the process of being made, or cancelled altogether because they were pissed that we didn't let them get away with the overcharges! A couple of weeks later we received a third charge on our debit card for the correct amount due and a few days after that we received our labels in good order. Again Metalcraft’s products are great, but their billing is very dishonest. Watch this company like a hawk! Unfortunately they have lost our trust and our business. Their requirement of a credit card prepayment is understandable, but they should not overcharge, especially after giving a price quote. They should give a quote, charge the agreed upon price, make the product and send it to the customer. If you do order from this company, watch your billing statement carefully and DON'T USE YOUR DEBIT CARD! Even better, tell them you must pay by check! For us, we won’t do business with them again. This is unfortunate. Again they make great products.
