It was extremely busy! We went to paint a rock since it was paint a rock to add to the rock snake outside! It was also to kick off the summer reading program! Signed up my last kiddo for his library card, and replaced mine and my oldest kiddos cards! We signed up for the summer reading program. They checked out a couple books, and a board game each, and I checked out my own books, they had a blast! The receptionists were extremely nice. They were bombarded with kids that were unattended but that's okay, things happen. The library itself was extremely clean, and the atmosphere was great.

This library is exquisite! Such wonderful employees and a beautiful place. I have been going here since I was a young child. I can just remember the excitement of carefully going down a gorgeous staircase to the children's section, where adventures awaited me in the form of both new and classic tales! It was always so exciting visiting as a child. The person in the children's section would always be so kind and even sometimes give a sticker or a bookmark! There was a special smell to this library as well not something I can put my finger on. However it was comforting. I also enjoyed exploring the other areas of the library too in the back were the older section is with the winding staircase. I now live out of town however do stop by on a rare occasion for nostalgia purposes. Have not been for years, hope to soon. I do wish the city of Ottumwa had kept the pretty fountain outside the library instead of that bandstand a shame! It was pleasant to go outside and look at that beautiful fountain.

Very beautiful building. We celebrated my daughter's graduation party. There was enough room for all of the family and friends.
