I’ve been working with Chuck Berendes at Pittman & Pittman for about five years now—first for my green card application, and most recently for my citizenship—and I can honestly say he’s been amazing every step of the way. Even though the entire process has been virtual, I’ve never once felt alone or unheard. Chuck has always been incredibly attentive, quick to respond to every email, call, or question I’ve had (and there were a lot!).

One moment that really stands out was in 2022, just two months after receiving my 2-year green card—it got stolen. I had a trip planned to Brazil the following month to see my family, and I was devastated. If it weren’t for Chuck jumping in and moving fast to help me get an I-551 stamp, I wouldn’t have been able to make that trip. I’ll never forget that.

Today, I passed my citizenship interview (!!), and I just feel so grateful. If you’re looking for someone who truly cares, listens, and knows what they’re doing, Chuck is your guy. I can’t recommend him enough!!

Chuck helped me with my PR application and he was very efficient. I was concerned at first because our meetings were 100% remote but it ended up pretty well and I did not have to go to the physical office which saved me a lot of time. He gave me a checklist of what materials to prepare and it was quite straightforward and readable. I’ve recommended him to multiple people out of state for his service and they all told me he was ever helpful. Pricing of his service was also quite reasonable in comparison with others attorneys in the same field of practice for the quality of work. Our experience with Pittman & Pittman has been amazing, specifically with Chuck Berendes. Me and my husband filed for the Green Card and Adjustment of Status back in September. In February, we received a notice from USCIS that our interview has been scheduled for April 1st. We already had a lawyer back in Spain and she recommended we look for an attorney to go with us to the interview. A member of my family met Chuck and I talked to him, asking if he could help us in that matter. He first asked for our application and then he called me to clear some questions he had. We had a 30 minute conversation in which he also gave us some recommendations for before the interview. After that, we decided to do the process with him. Chuck told us what other documents it would be good to bring, and then we had a meeting the three of us (my husband, Chuck and me) about what to expect in the interview. The day of the interview, he came all the way to Minneapolis from La Crosse (on a snowy day) and kept on giving us tips and reassuring us everything was going to be alright. I felt much better with him there with us. At the end of the interview, I finally got approved! I’m so grateful we found the right person to go there with us. We will definitely go with him if we apply for the 10-year Green Card. I totally recommend him and the firm.

After almost six years my wife and I have been struggling to get USCIS to finalize their path to citzenship.
