I did not find the bakery appealing to my senses as culinary craftsmanship did not impress. I left without buying anything sadly. This is not a high quality baked goods and desserts including ingredients. Be aware when ordering.

Once you are in authentic bakery you don’t need to think twice or taste anything before know this is high quality product. This is just it. Old product, not quality creams instead sugar frosting that you can find in Walmart. Can’t speak for breads but they didn’t seem too fresh either. Hopefully that was a day off when I visited.

I’d go to the Batch bakery every time on Willy street. That is phenomenal.

Ordered 12 cupcakes for a party. Cupcakes were very moist and turned out exactly as I’d hoped. They were very flexible with design and ordering, I even shipped some decorative items to them to add on top and they made it work. Would order here again!

Rolling Pin worked with us to do a mini dessert bar at our wedding. They were so professional and easy to work with! They even surprised us by making the cake cups we had ordered in edible chocolate cups! The desserts were so amazing, we only had two small boxes of leftovers for a wedding of 80 people, and even those were snatched up at the farewell brunch.

I always try every product before reviewing a business. I tried one thing, my cupcake I was looking forward too after CONFIRMING MORE THAN ONCE that it is buttercream. I was lied to. You can’t run a business while lying to your customers. If it is buttercream if that is considered buttercream than it is being made wrong. That was not buttercream on my cupcake, it tasted like whipped frosting made with artificial flavors. Lies will never make a business succeed. Also, they don’t have pricing posted which I found kinda sketchy. If you do go here the cupcakes are not good 1/5. It was not buttercream and whatever frosting it was, it was nasty. The cookie tasted like a Rice Krispie bar, but the decorative work was stunning 3/5. My husband got the cinnamon roll with barely any icing 3/5. . I recommend going elsewhere!

I love what they have done with the new space, and I live nearby so I have tried quite a few of their baked goods. My favorites by far are the key lime bars and the round fluffy donuts filled with custard (not sure what they are called). There have been some other pastries that I’ve tried that I thought were just okay (fruit envelopes, cinnamon rolls). However, I really wish that they would display prices. Unless you ask about every single item or are buying something you’ve previously purchased, you might be in for a bit of sticker shock.

MOLD. Actually shocking, we ordered four lady locks, 8 mini cheesecakes and 8 almond horns and I won’t be having any of it! The Lady locks had MOLD inside! The workers had zero reaction to this so I assume this isn’t even the first time, the manager/owner wouldn’t even show his/her face to apologize so they just didn’t care at all.
If I just didn’t like the taste of something I wouldn’t bother to write anything, but to sell moldy food in your bakery is completely unacceptable under any circumstances. I don’t know how long they had been laying in the display case for it to develop like it did but clearly it wasn’t a day or two.
This bakery doesn’t care about food safety at all and will sell you old moldy goods. DO NOT GO HERE.

The cakes and pastries are some of the best in Madison! The food was also great. The muffaletta is great and a large portion!
