We had a terrible time getting the internet upgraded for my mom and dad. The first call center rep (Carrie) was nice and patient and explained everything very well. We had to call back and got another rep ( Carrie had already left for the day) who wouldn’t be quiet long enough for me to explain what exactly we neededAfter all that time, we weren’t able to switch over the phone today because she had to do them as two different orders (really? Can’t combine into one order?)and it was an extra step since they wanted to keep their same home number. If mom and dad had any other choice besides Frontier, I would have taken their business elsewhere. Shentel nor Frontier are not the best for either service. Not only did the rep talk too much and not listen, she failed to explain all the additional costs for set up of the modem for the phone, etc. IMO, that should be said right off the bat for any additional fees or costs that will be incurred. Unfortunately, southern WV has no good competition for internet and phone services. They are left out of the rest of America. No one understands what it’s like in rural America. No one cares about us here. Hopefully when she calls back for the phone import, it will be a better process.

The receptionists is such a friendly and knowledgeable lady. Really enjoy our conversations and her beautiful smile!! I hate she is retiring. She will really be missed!!

Like every other cable service in southern West Virginia, they are cooks. My mother is paying these people a VERY substantial sum of money a month for a router that doesn't work right and they refuse to replace because none of their "technicians" understand that the connection between the computer and the router is different than the connection between the router and the internet. Her television has almost channels worth watch and her telephone service loves to cut out at random times or only allow one party on the line to hear and speak with the other. I do not understand how I am paying less for business class internet, telephone, and television than my mother does for Shentel's basic package. But then again this is southern West Virginia and companies like this move in, kill or buy all the competition, then bleed all the poor people for what little money they get a month out of the coal mines and retirement checks.

There is a special place in hell for this company, right beside Comcast and Cox.

If you’re a video gamer i wouldn’t suggest shentel. if you plan on streaming videos or movies through something along the lines of netflix, youtube, hulu, tiktok, facebook, instagram. literally anything that requires internet i wouldn’t suggest shentel. shentel is the equivalent of t-mobile. don’t let them talk you up for the extra mbs it’s not going to change anything. just what’s left in your bank account after bills are due

Very polite had a couple of laughs answered all the questions, I wasnt mad that I wasn't at home when he first got there, he just right around an came in with a smile on his face and got it done!
