Stopped by the retail location, TONS of plants, and the fish were healthy and in excellent condition / color. Prices were good as well, I will definitely be back to pick up fish in the future and would strongly recommend anyone buy from Tristan if he has something you are looking for.

Amazing! Fish arrived alive and healthy, couldn’t be happier with the packing. Communication is super close. There was a mishap with his stock list and I ordered four Venezuelan Corydoras but he ended up only having three. Tristan immediately reached out and refunded me for the fourth fish. Things happen. Though I was disappointed. I was very impressed on how prompt and professional he was. I would love to see his store someday! Super fair prices for top notch fish. This guy has all the boxes checked, what are you waiting for? Order those fish!!!

If you are here and you found this do yourself a favor and just order them, make the purchase! There are no words that i can use to tell you how happy i am with every purchase, how every fish has been exactly as described healthy and alive upon arrival! No other online store will take such pride in their work! Tristan monitors weather reports and will only ship when he feels the fish have the best chance of survival. Communication is great and he even gave me a brief consult! Tristans tropical fish is a gem and you would be a fool not to order here!

Tristians tropical fish is a rare find indeed.
He is the best aquatic fish dealer I have ever came across. I wish I found him sooner because no other company can come close to do what he can. There may be larger companies than him out there, but they can’t compete with his overall handling of his business. He is a one-of-a-kind businessman, and he really knows what he’s doing. His fish come healthy. He is very responsive. He does a fantastic packing job and quick delivery. I would highly recommend him.

Tristan's Tropical Fish is a great location to find healthy and unique fish! I greatly appreciate that he quarantines all fish before they go out to new homes, that is a huge plus. I found some very unique angelfish at his shop that I was not expecting to find (and have not see anywhere else locally)! His shop helped me stock my two 75s with cardinal and black neon tetras, and they are so beautiful. I think I purchased about 20 tetras all together and not a single one has passed, and the two angels I unexpectedly picked up are also in excellent health. He also has great pricing! I really enjoyed making the 30 min trip out to his shop per a recommendation, and very much enjoyed the other critters surrounding his shop as a pleasant surprise 🙂 Oh, and his cat is also adorable and I couldn't resist giving him many pets despite being quite allergic to cats haha! I did email him ahead of time as well and he was super responsive which was greatly appreciated. I highly recommend shopping with Tristan and we will definitely prioritize all future fish purchases with him. If you are in the Madison/surrounding areas, make the trip to visit his shop for sure!

Great looking healthy fish. This was my first time ordering fish online as I purchased a trio of blue flame apistos. I made the mistake of going with 2nd day air, which I will never do again. The first order had a delay in shipping(3days) and when the fish arrived they were barely alive and ended up dying within the 1st night. Tristan was great and responded quickly to my DOA email. He apologized even though it was not his fault the shipping was delayed and graciously replaced the fish and paid for next day air which was unexpected. By far the best customer service I've seen. I would highly recommend buying from Tristan's Tropical Fish. Pictures are from the 1st day after acclimation. 1 male 2 females.

This aquarium store was about 40 minutes from my house and it was definitely worth the drive. The tanks were clean. They were very knowledgeable and The prices were very reasonable for Locally Raised fish will be returning

Waited a few weeks for these cardinal tetras while Tristan quarantined them. He gave me a call once they were ready and they are now happily swimming away in my tank! While I was there I had asked him for a small bit of Java moss to get another tank started with some, and after looking back at my receipt, he was nice enough to throw it in no charge. While he didn’t have to do this, you have no idea how much I appreciate the gesture! All his fish at the store look as healthy as can be and I will most definitely be shopping here more often. Absolutely phenomenal customer service and I’m blown away by the care he shows. At least at the time of this review, there is a reason why his business has a 5.0 rating. Do not hesitate to take your business to Tristan! Thank you so much!
