We were visiting the town of Erwin and stopped at Valley Beautiful Antique Mall, looking for an elephant as a momento.

The gentleman owner of the shop was very knowledgeable, and we were able to purchase a pottery elephant that had been made in Erwin.

The shop is a nice shop with many different items and Erwin was a nice visit.

LOVE this store for purchasing Blue Ridge dinnerware. There is a large selection of rare and unusual pieces. The owner is very courteous and willing to help in locating desired pieces as well as educating on the history of the pottery. There might be a sticker shock when you first walk in but most of the prices are negotiable. Might need to call ahead to make sure the shop is open due to the owner having to care for elderly family members and it can interfere with opening the shop. I look forward to going to see all the rare and unusual Blue Ridge but the shop has other pottery and glassware pieces. I have to resist the urge to start other collections. I never leave empty handed and I always look forward to returning for another prized piece of pottery!!!

Overpriced is an understatement. We walked in, excited for the huge variety of glass. (We drove 2 hours for this) my jaw hit the floor when we started looking at the tags. They announced “50% off everything “ that was still not enough to make anything a reasonable purchase. Too bad, I was prepared to purchase quite a bit, but it seems like they would rather have you look at everything and not buy at these prices. Nice museum though! 🙃

I visited Valley Beautiful Antiques just over a week ago. It is a treasure trove of vintage glassware and Erwin area pottery - especially Blue Ridge. Joey is friendly, helpful and willing to work with his customers on pricing. I ended up purchasing several pieces of Clouse pottery and was very happy with the experience. If you’re traveling a long distance, as I did coming from Michigan, I suggest touching base with Joey beforehand.

Ever since discovering Valley Beautiful my experience has been nothing short of fantastic. Joey has a wealth of knowledge that he shares. Fine selection of blue ridge but also other glass pieces, never short of things to look at. All you have to do is ask him and he can tell you all about it.

I had heard so many good things about Joey and Valley Beautiful prior to my visit and it did not disappoint. Joeys knowledge of what’s in his store, where it’s at and the history behind it was amazing. It’s now a permanent stop when I’m in Erwin!

Drove an hour to get there. Store hours are published as opening at 10:30. At 11:00 called left a message and nothing.
With the cost of gas at almost 3.50 a gallon I will not make a special trip there in the future if at all. P.S. I'm a huge glass collector.

If you are interested in Blue Ridge Pottery of any age, in any form, this is the place to go!! Tables and shelves full of this amazing pottery in the town it was made in!
