UPDATE: Due to Stephanie's reply below... I actually did work for Vector briefly when I was on break from college. I was NEVER paid the base hourly rate which is the thing they have always used to lure people in by putting flyers on people's cars, and advertisements on college campus bulletin boards. The rate is something usually pretty high (back in 2002 it was $18/hr). The local branch manager will do anything he/she can to not pay you that rate. For me, when I got my first paycheck which was a joke and the base rate was missing, my manager then pointed out a very fine print in the contract saying that you have to call into the office every day to get that rate. We were NEVER told that during training. They also wanted me to join one of their groups to put flyers on cars at a college campus, but there was no pay for that.

Stephanie, don't call people who have had legit experiences working for Vector trolls. It's offensive. Stop the Multi Level Marketing Scheme, and sell legitimately. You have a good product, but unethical practices with the Vector arm.

Can't believe these guys are still doing their deceptive business practices. If you have a good product (Cutco Cutlery), sell it legitimately... Don't use college kids to sell only to family/friends. Anyone who works for these guys in management has a messed up moral compass... Agree with the other 1-star reviews below. Basically anytime you see 5-star reviews with these guys, it's always people working for the company as managers in some role who condone the immoral practices, or one of their friends they asked to leave a 5-star review

I got a random text from somebody telling me I was referred to them for a potential job. Spent several days in unpaid training then when I was ready to start selling the manager Sam made me only contact friends/family. When we asked if we could go about other methods of finding prospects she said word for word to just find people who “won’t say no to you”. After my sales started dropping once I ran through most of my friends/family she ghosted me. No termination or bad performance reviews I actually sold quite well just ran out of friends and family to sell. Couldn’t get in contact with Sam & I never got my last check until several months later when I got a random call. The product is not a scam but if you want to go into sales for a career this isn’t the place to do it in my opinion.

I loved working with Vector! I worked there for three years and while I was there I enhanced all my skills needed for future jobs. Such as communication skills, people skills and time management, which are three huge parts of any job. I would recommend this job to anyone looking to work hard and gain a ton from the experience you gain! And all the staff that works there are always very friendly and professional!

The manager Pete and his staff are horrible! When I first got the job I thought they honestly cared and were offering a great experience. As training started and I began doing appointments I could tell Pete was faking his interest in me. I made some sales and got my commission but ultimately he did not pay me the rest of my pay. I didnt know what to do or who to contact so I turned in my kit and quit shortly after starting. I think Vector as a whole is probably a great company but Pete and his team are extremely dishonest and manipulative. 🙁 If you are going to work for Vector, work in a different office. There are a few in the area.

College students, please don't waste your time. Vector Marketing lures you in with a high "base-appt rate" of $17.50. That is not an hourly rate. You also have to use your own vehicle and are not reimbursed for mileage or wear and tear. The company also provides you with no leads; you are forced to sell to family and friends who probably don't need knives. They have knives already. The company preys on gullible young college kids. It is truly sad because the product Cutco Cutlery is a good product, but the marketing arm - Vector Marketing - is highly unethical.

They kept me waiting for 2 hours for an interview. They didn't have the courtesy to tell me I didn't get the job. They didn't even give me an interview. I was not treated with any kind of respect. Do not waste your time like I did with them. I'm glad I'm not working for such an ugly company.

Pyramid scheme. All the 5 star reviews you see below are either paid or by employees themselves. Thankfully these guys have started to be banned from placing flyers at college campuses, the places where they recruit the majority of gullible young college students with the promise of a high hourly rate which most never make. This is like Amway or Herbalife....
