I had some old home movies that I hadn't seen in years, that were in very fragile condition. Andy was able to transfer them to DVD in better condition than the dark, crackled original. It was done on the day that he promised. and it was at a fair price. I would recommend him to anyone that wants video work done. Thank you Andy! Doug

One of the best decisions we made for our wedding day. Truly incredible. We decided late in the process to hire a videographer. After viewing some of Andy and Louie's work (which is fantastic) on their website, we decided to hire them. They went well above and beyond our expectations. Andy explains how they try to capture and tell the story of each individual wedding, and you don't really understand what that means until you see the final product and its just amazing. It's been almost a year since and we still watch the short cinematic video all the time.
These guys pour themselves into each project with an artists touch. Top notch cameras and microphones, stellar work, very professional. They seemed to capture everything without getting in the way.

Andy was very helpful. I had 2 VHS tapes that I could not watch and he transferred them to DVD's for me. It took less time that he estimated and I was happy with the results.

Andy Small of the Video Center took some inadequate footage by another videographer of my 50th year reunion at the University of Chicago, added it to footage from our 30th and 40th year reunions and came up with a product that was dynamite, especially when we added a parody at the end toward the university that was wonderful..
We also asked the Video Center to produce a program by Smith Studio Jazz last summer during Iowa City's Jazz Festival. Andy combined footage of the band performing, individual musicians, and the crowd around the stand that was dynamite. I would hire him again in a minute if I needed him.

Well, wow! Under duress of two close family deaths, we took a somewhat hastily salvaged half carton of very heterogeneous old photos, some from the latter 1800's, many from the 1900-1940 era, with sizes ranging from thumbnail to mantle-top, well exposed to not-so-much, and a chaotic variety of facial skin tones and image surface conditions.
We asked Andy what he could do [half-expecting a flat-out refusal -- except that this: we had already heard so much about the technical quality of his work, and at least equally important, his attitude toward people.
We know for a fact that he spent hours, literally, making visual sense out of that dusty stack.
We walked away with a half dozen copies of sets of 2 DVDs each.
One DVD is a simple "archive" collection of photo-by-photo custom-done high-resolution jpeg images, archived such that family members smarter than i can in the future do adds and sorts, as more old family photos are located and shared among us survivors.
The second DVD is a "movie", or call it a gently enhanced slide show, with background music from a CD very directly meaningful to the survivors and to our recently lost ones.
The first time ever i peeked my nose into the door of Andy's studio, uninvited, immediately i noticed that the studio was tidy, professional, functional, and totally lacking in "slick" decor designed to impress ... or depress. Just the Job. Also i noticed what i did NOT notice ::: odd aromas -- of anything. Especially not of the sorts of molecules that might in any way affect our originals, nor the quality of the product. And, significantly, noticed that the person inside was warm and a good efficient communicator -- and not straining to impress visitors.
We/i never have written a Google review before, and rarely write a review anywhere about anything for anybody, but we are doing this one because we believe we may be doing a service for you out there, some of whom may at some point be under similar family duress.
We want you to know that we believe that you will feel "safe" with taking your irreplaceable materials to Andy; and we believe you will be pleased with the totality of the work.
We will not list our phone number on this or any such "social" site, but we are not hard to find, and we are giving Andy [whom we never knew until a few weeks ago] permission to give out our phone on request.
